Computer Room Air Handling Units (CRAH)

CRAH units provide cooling by blowing air over a cooling coil filled with chilled water. The chilled water is typically supplied by a chilled water plant. CRAH units can regulate fan speed to maintain a set static pressure, ensuring the humidity levels and temperature remain stable.

Key reasons for fire risks include:
• Proximity to White & Gray Space
• Manufacturing defects, mechanical damage, component degradation, and malfunctions
• Overheating of air-flow systems

VIS has seamlessly integrated solutions for the protection of CRAH units and galleries, featuring very early warning (VEW) smoke detection with VESDA-E, Viking VFR400 Suppression Control Panels, and control a variety of FireFlex Preaction Suppression Systems.
